Abkhazian President Sergei Bagapsh expressed confidence that recognition process of republic’s independence will continue. Today, the ceremony of signing the documents on Abkhazia-Nauru Republic diplomatic relations took place in Sukhum. Nauru is the fourth country after Russia, Venezuela and Nicaragua that recognized Abkhazia’s independence.

According to Bagapsh, the country holds talks with several Caribbean, Middle Eastern and European states on recognition of its independence. “To a large extent it depends on us and how we build the state regime, internal political intercourse as well as economy development,” he stated.
