The Governing Council of the Millennium Challenge Account – Armenia (MCA-Armenia) chaired by RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan held its regular sitting on December 14.
The Information and Public Relations Department, RA Government, told NEWS.am that MCA-Armenia Chief Executive Officer Ara Hovhannisyan made a report at the sitting. He pointed out amendments to the concept of the national irrigation policy. The Council also approved the 14th application for a total of U.S. $11,771,871 to submitted to the Millennium Challenge Corporation in the first quarter of 2010. Under the present contracts, the funds are to be channeled to further construction projects, particularly, the renovation of 17 outpatient clinics, renovation of five gravity and six main waterways, renovation of the irrigation network in a number of communities in Ararat, Armavir and Vaiots Dzor, as well as the renovation of the drainage system in the Ararat valley.
