January 15, 2010 Special Envoy of U.S. Secretary of State for Eurasian Energy Richard Morningstar arrived in Azerbaijan, U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Officer Terry Davidson informed Azerbaijani APA agency.

Morningstar will hold discussions on energy issues with Azerbaijani officials. Meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is also scheduled.

January 12, 2010 Richard Morningstar arrived in the region to attend Batumi energy summit. He held several closed meetings with Georgian high-ranking officials. However, Morningstar did not participate in the summit due to format transformation and arrived in Azerbaijan on January 14.
