YEREVAN.- Representative of former presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian has filed a petition to the Constitutional Court demanding that the February 18 presidential elections must be declared invalid (photos).
In several minutes spokesperson for Raffi Hovannisian and his advisor on legal affairs will give a press conference near the court’s building.
The Constitutional Court of Armenia will examine the petition within ten days.
Armenia’s Central Electoral Committee confirmed on February 25 a protocol on final results of the February 18 presidential elections. Incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan won elections in the first round, getting 58.64 percent (861,373 votes). Head of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian was the second with 36.75 percent of voters (539,693).
