According to preliminary results, Deputy PM Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya received 50.03 percent of the people’s votes and secured victory in the country’s presidential election.

Aside from the presidential vote, however, regional governor elections likewise were held in Kenya. And one of the respective candidates was Malik Obama, the elder half-brother of US President Barack Obama.

But Malik Obama, 54, lost in the Siaya County elections in Western Kenya, NTV reports.      

Malik Obama ran in the regional governor elections as an independent candidate and, as per the politician, his main inspiration is the political success of his younger brother, Barack.
