YEREVAN. – In all likelihood, the Franco-German general history textbook is the final, rather than the starting point of the fifty-year-old bilateral relations, French Ambassador to Armenia, Henri Reynaud, said during a press conference on Monday.      

“[But] the textbook does not aim to give any lessons to Armenia; it simply can be accepted as an example of reconciliation,” he noted.   

To the query as whether he means Armenian-Azerbaijani, or Armenian-Turkish reconciliation, the French diplomat responded that the Armenian people should know this better. 

“The course of history can be changed at any time. After a long-lasting enmity, it is possible to pass to a mutual understanding and cooperation. It is your generation that must find a path of reconciliation with the parties that are hostile against you,” Henri Reynaud said.
