YEREVAN. – Great Britain recognizes the results of the presidential election that was conducted in Armenia on February 18. Simon Fraser, the Permanent Under Secretary and Head of the Diplomatic Service at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, stated this Monday during a news conference in capital city Yerevan.

He noted that the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) International Election Observation Mission made a generally positive assessment on the election results.

“We recognize the election results. We also consider that even if the process was not perfect, the results reflect the reality. Lessons could be learned. It is important that all parties strive for this, and also cooperate to find the road to the future progress toward the country’s wellbeing,” Fraser said.
