YEREVAN. – Within the framework of his working visit to Belgium, Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan attended, on Thursday in Brussels, the summit of the European People’s Party (EPP).

Sargsyan also addressed the event and reflected on Armenia’s presidential election that was held on February 18, the post-election developments, the country’s ongoing reforms, as well as interaction and the future courses of action along the lines of Eastern Partnership, the President’s Press Office informs.

The President reaffirmed that Armenia is determined to continue the reforms plus the European integration, as a priority of the country’s foreign policy. Sargsyan also noted that Azerbaijan’s selective application of the European values is impermissible.

Following the summit, Serzh Sargsyan met with EPP President Wilfried Martens. The Armenian leader thanked for the support that Martens himself and the entire EPP family had extended during the presidential voting in Armenia, and for the EPP President’s message of congratulations that was issued to Sargsyan following the election.
