YEREVAN. – There are two major players in Armenia’s foreign policy. One of them has presented its demands to our authorities and the latter have agreed to abide by them. But the other party is trying to create obstacles so that our government cannot meet those demands. Karabakh Committee former member Ashot Manucharyan stated this during a press conference on Friday.   

In his words, such situation is created in Armenia’s relations with the West and with Russia. 

“In fact, Armenia gave its consent the West. [And] with the consent by the West, our authorities engaged in talks with Russia and agreed to carry out the demands,” Manucharyan said.     

He also noted that the US interested so that an institutional contrast is created in Armenia, but he added that the US does not seek to create an awkward situation for Russia.

“Because in that case, Russia could operate in deconstructive manner. In this context, the South Caucasus is of vital importance for Russia, and a brutal struggle will be waged for this region,” Ashot Manucharyan stressed.
