Armenia’s Ambassador to Egypt Armen Melkonyan met with Egypt’s Minister of Awqaf, Sheikh Talat Afifi.

The sides discussed Armenia-Egypt relations, pointing out Armenian community’s role in the development of ties. They underscored importance of promoting dialogue between the states.

Ambassador Melkonyan spoke about the recent developments over Karabakh peace process and efforts of the international community.

Bishop of Armenian catholics in Alexandria Krikor Augustinos Koussan was present at the meeting.

Egypt’s Ministry of Awqaf is in charge of religious endowments.
