YEREVAN.- Armenian parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan received on Tuesday head of Council of Europe office in Armenia Oleksandr Pavlyuk.
Speaker Abrahamyan expressed confidence that Oleksandr Pavlyuk would successfully carry on the consistent work of the CoE Office in Yerevan aimed at further enhancement of the CoE-Armenia relations.
Hovik Abrahamyan stressed that Armenia highly appreciates the cooperation with the Council of Europe, as well as the support of the organization in the process of ongoing democratic reforms.
Armenian official hailed important Armenia-Council of Europe 2012-2014 Action Plan supposed to support Armenia in fulfilling its commitments.
In his turn, Mr. Pavlyuk underscored importance of further development of cooperation in different directions. He noted that Armenia will assume the presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe from May 16, 2013.
Head of the Yerevan office said Armenia has a good opportunity to display the capacity of a leader and adherence to European values. He also gave appraisal of the effective cooperation with the Armenian National Assembly.
