YEREVAN. – The establishment of the France-NKR (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, or Artsakh) friendship circle is an important step on the road to Artsakh’s international recognition. Prosperous Armenia Party National Assembly Faction Secretary, France-Armenia Friendship group member Naira Zohrabyan told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am. 

In her words, friendship groups are usually formed between sovereign states, and considering this fact, the establishment of friendship groups with Karabakh in the Lithuanian Seimas (Parliament) and in the French Senate attests to the fact that there is no alternative to the international recognition of Karabakh.  

“I am more than sure that such groups will be established in the parliaments of other countries, too,” Zohrabyan noted, and added that it should be taken into consideration that these friendship groups were established despite a strong resistance and aggressive attacks by the Azerbaijani party.
