YEREVAN. – Zambia’s newly appointed Ambassador to Armenia, Frederick Shumba Hapunda—whose diplomatic residence is in Moscow—on Friday presented his credentials to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

Congratulating the ambassador for starting his diplomatic mission in Armenia, the President noted that Armenia is interested in cooperating and deepening relations with African countries and also with the African Union, where Armenia has observer status, the President’s Press Office informs.   

Sargsyan noted that Armenia and Zambia are collaborating productively within international organizations, and Zambia has manifested a balanced position with respect to matters referring to Armenia’s vital interests.    

In his turn, Ambassador Hapunda thanked Sargsyan for his congratulations and, in connection with his reelection as President of Armenia, conveyed to Sargsyan the congratulatory message and best wishes extended to him by the Zambian president.  

In the ensuing talk, they discussed the opportunities for cooperation in the domains that present a mutual interest between Armenia and Zambia.
