The disagreement of several Lithuanian Seimas (Parliament) members cannot impact the activities of the Seimas’ Lithuania-Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Friendship Group because the MPs are free and there is freedom of speech in the country, Lithuanian MP Dangutė Mikutienė told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In her words, the Seimas has a large number of such friendship groups, including with Chechnya, Taiwan, and Tibet.

“The opposition’s statements in this domain are not too significant. But our colleagues’ statements in the Azerbaijani media show their ‘civility.’ We regret that they perceive the democratic process and the freedom of speech in this way,” the Lithuanian Seimas member stated.

She also noted that the future plans of the Lithuania-NKR Friendship Group will be discussed in the coming days.

“Our friendship group will be very active, and there is no doubt about it,” Dangutė Mikutienė added.
