YEREVAN. – Armenia’s National Security Council (NSC) Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan, who is in Poland on an official visit, on Wednesday was received by Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski.

First, Baghdasaryan conveyed Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s message addressed to the Polish leader, NSC press service informs. During the ensuing talk, they stressed the high level of Armenian-Polish political discourse. Also, the Polish president was briefed on the results of the monitoring, which were jointly conducted by the security councils of both countries, of the course of implementing the international agreements signed between Armenia and Poland.    

The NSC Secretary noted that he and his Polish colleague have agreed to expand the domains of cooperation. President Komorowski gave a high assessment to the activities that were carried out, and welcomed the parties’ readiness to deepen cooperation. They also discussed matters relating to President Sargsyan’s scheduled visit to Poland.   

On the same day, Arthur Baghdasaryan also met with Bogusław Winid, the Polish Undersecretary of State for Security Policy. They examined the ways for developing Armenian-Polish relations, and also pointed to Poland’s possible assistance to Armenia on its road to deepening European integration and Eastern Partnership. 

Armenia’s National Security Council Secretary also had a talk with Ilkka Laitinen, the Executive Director of Frontex (European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the European Union). The interlocutors discussed the cooperation projects in border security, and the events of interest for the parties.     

Subsequently, Baghdasaryan met with members of the Armenia-Poland Parliamentary Friendship Group led by Łukasz Abgarowicz, who is of Armenian decent. The parties noted that relations between the parliaments of Armenia and Poland are developing with success. It was stressed that the parliamentary friendship groups of both countries play an important role in expanding ties between the legislative bodies. 

Armenia’s National Security Council Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan also held talks at the National Academy of Sciences of Poland, the Polish-Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Information and Foreign Investment Agency of Poland, during which the parties discussed the avenues for deepening Armenian-Polish cooperation.
