YEREVAN. – The more than 500 employees of the Nairit rubber plant of Armenia, who were staging a protest Tuesday in front of the Presidential Palace, were promised a partial payment of their unpaid wages.
A demonstrator told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the plant workers were promised one month’s salary by the end of July and another month’s wage, by the end of August.
At the Presidential Palace, the envoys of the Nairit employees met with the deputy head of the Control Department of the President.
To note, the Nairit workers demand the payment of their unpaid salaries for 10-11 months and the resuming of operations at the plant. The employees were promised that their wages would be paid by July 15, but they were not paid.
