YEREVAN. – Gevorg Safaryan, who is last of the detained youth that are protesting against the recent rise in the public transport fare in capital city Yerevan, was released from the Police precinct.

The Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informed the abovementioned from the precinct.

Upon his release, Safaryan noted that the police are detaining the youth in order to hamper the protests, since in this way the activists would gather in front of police precincts and not take part in the demonstrations.

Also, Gevorg Safaryan called upon the picketers to continue the protests.

The crowds, which had gathered across the police precinct, are now heading toward the Transport and Communication Ministry, to continue their demonstration there, informs the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter.

To note, eight other detained activists were released earlier.
