YEREVAN. – Protest actions against transport fare hike will continue in Armenia’s capital until the municipality reduces the fare to 100 drams, activist Sonya Msryan said during the Wednesday press conference.

“It is our first demand. Then, we must struggle to make long-term reforms in transport sector as well as to hold accountable the officials and owners of public transport routes. Participants of our actions are paying 100 drams,” she said.

Activist Gor Hakobyan noted that several political parties have responded to the action, calling municipality’s decision “unjustified.”

After the media conference, activists divided into groups to hand over leaflets and urge to pay 100 drams instead of 150.
