YEREVAN. – There may be a minimal increase in the fares of interregional and intercity public transport routes in Armenia.
Transport and Communication Minister Gagik Beglaryan noted the aforesaid during a briefing with news reporters on Thursday.
He informed that there are 170 such routes in the country and the fares might be increased in seven or eight of them; this hike will be 10-12 percent.
As per Beglaryan, even though the proprietors of these routes had proposed a higher fare during the contest for the routes, they subsequently had agreed to work with a lower fare.
But, now, negotiations are underway with these proprietors, and concerning a review of the fares.
