YEREVAN. – Re-equipment of Nairit rubber plant will be put on hold.
During the Thursday session, Armenian government made amendments to the program on re-equipment of gas and chemical branch adopted back in 2011.
According to the decision, the program of re-equipment will be launched only after a deal with an operator is signed.
Nairit was the only plant producing chloroprene rubber in the territory of the former Soviet Union. In 2006 ninety percent of shares were purchased by the British Rhinoville Property Limited for $40 million with the rest 10 percent belonging to the Armenian government.
