YEREVAN. – The rumors that Yerevan municipality is holding an urgent meeting in connection with dismissals of several officials are untrue, spokesperson for municipality Shuash Sardaryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to rumors, the reason for the supposed resignations is irresponsible decision to increase public transport fares.

The members of “We will not pay 150 drams” have been staging protests in Yerevan for several days. Finally, the Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan canceled the decision to increase transport fares. The activists demand dismissals of Henrik Navasardyan, head of transport department, and Misak Hambartzumyan, director of Yerevan Trans LLC.
