YEREVAN. – Rise in prices of gas, electricity, transport and consumer goods will provoke an overall poverty in Armenia, ethnographer Hranush Kharatyan said.
She noted that it would be impossible to preserve Armenia’s natural resources, in particular woods, under these conditions. The ethnographer said that wood will be used to heat water, cook means and coffee.
“This is something we used to do in the past, and now we will use wood instead of gas, especially in households located near forest areas,” she told a press conference on Friday.
Gas price for households has increased from 132 drams to 156 starting from July 7.
