YEREVAN. – Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party will nominate its MP candidate in Election District No. 38 of Syunik Region.     

At present, the names of Heritage’s chairman, ex-presidential candidate and former FM Raffi Hovannisian, and of the party’s National Assembly (NA) faction Secretary Zaruhi Postanjyan are circulating.   

Heritage’s vice-chairman Armen Martirosyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that he cannot give a clear answer to this matter, since the party has not yet held a respective discussion.     

“These matters will be taken up either today or tomorrow [i.e., Monday or Tuesday]. When this matter is discussed at the board session, I will answer more clearly,” Martirosyan added.   

To note, the MP seat from Election District No. 38 remained vacant when Vahe Hakobyan, who was elected into the NA from this district, was appointed Syunik Governor on July 11.    

The early parliamentary elections at Election District No. 38 will be conducted on September 29.
