YEREVAN. – The Armenian President-affiliated Public Council is preparing to discuss, in the coming days, the matter of the public transport fares in capital city Yerevan.

Tigran Hovhannisyan, Chairman of the Public Council Subcommittee on Transportation Affairs, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Hovhannisyan informed that he already has petitioned to Public Council Chairman Vazgen Manukyan, with a request to convene a group session on this matter.

To note, the previous session was held two weeks ago, during which the committee members could not reach a mutual decision on raising the fares.

The committee is preparing to examine alternatives whereby the public transport fares would remain the same, but the transport system would not operate with a financial loss.
