YEREVAN. – As a result of the first half of 2013, ten of Armenia’s institutions of higher education are among the top 500 of the large taxpayers of the country. 

The number of such universities has increased by two, as compared to the first six months of last year. Furthermore, two of these further education institutions are even among the top 100 large taxpayer for this year.

The current list of Armenia’s largest-tax-paying institutions of higher education is headed by Yerevan State University, which passed Yerevan State Medical University.  

These two big further education institutions have paid approximately twice as much in taxes this year than the same period last year. 

The third largest-tax-paying university is the State Pedagogical Institute, which is followed by the State Engineering University of Armenia.     

To note, the aforesaid and several other institutions of higher education in Armenia have significantly increased the payment of taxes, and in some cases even up to three times.
