YEREVAN. – Possible candidate for the post of Yerevan’s chief architect Tigran Barseghyan refused to comment on appointment rumors.

Talking to the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent he recalled that there had been no decree on his appointment. Barseghyan categorically refused to comment on the issue until official announcement is made.

Earlier President Serzh Sargsyan signed a decree to set up a state committee on architecture at the Armenian government. According to rumors, Yerevan’s chief architect Narek Sargsyan will head the committee and his seat will be vacant.
