YEREVAN. – Public Council’s sub-committee on youth affairs sent a letter to Armenian Education Minister Armen Ashotyan on the rise in tuition fees in several universities.

In a letter, members of the sub-committee expressed concern over the recent decision and called to control the issue to find the mutually beneficial decision  “for the benefit of younger generation.”

They emphasized that rise in fees will directly affect the education quality and number of students.

Tuition fees were increased by Armenian State University of Economics and by the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. The Yerevan State University has increased tuition fees by AMD 20-200 thousand, too.
