YEREVAN. – The Armenian parliament voted on a bill to postpone for a year the introduction of mandatory accumulative pension.

The initiative was proposed by four factions: Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktustyun, the Armenian National Congress and Heritage.

Parliamentary majority on behalf of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia and its coalition partner Orinats Yerkir ruined the initiative.

The results of the voting showed 46 MPs voted “against” and 54 “for” the initiative (66 votes for were necessary).
