YEREVAN. – An inter-agency committee on coordination of cooperation between Armenian agencies and European structures held a meeting on Friday chaired by the Secretary of National Security Council Arthur Baghdasaryan.

The committee discussed a number of issues, including new directions of cooperation envisaged by the joint statement issued by Armenia and EU.

“In view of recent political developments, I want to emphasize once again that, in parallel with the accession to the Customs Union, we should continue active cooperation with the EU, and therefore very important for us is to develop an ambitious action plan. This program should give impetus to the reforms that we want to implement together with our European partners,” Arthur Baghdasaryan said.

He stressed the need to develop a new program for 2014-2015, taking into account the results of the last summit in Vilnius, where the need to update EU-Armenia Action Plan was clearly highlighted.

New EU-Armenia Action Plan will be submitted for the approval of President Serzh Sargsyan in late January next year. At the meeting, the committee members delivered reports on activities for 2012-2013 ensuring the implementation of the ENP EU-Armenia program, as well as works by some of its departments.
