YEREVAN. – The presentation of the Turkish version of folklorist and genocide studies specialist Verzhine Svazlyan’s book, entitled Armenian Genocide: Witness Testimonies of Survivors, was held Wednesday in capital city Yerevan.
Renowned Turkish human rights activist Ragip Zarakolu, who is director of Istanbul’s Belge Publishing House which published the Turkish version of the book, likewise was on hand at the event.
Zarakolu noted that regardless of any imminent threat to himself, he carries out his human duty by publishing works on the genocide.
He added that he very much wanted to present this book to Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoğlu—who will be in Yerevan Thursday to participate in the meeting of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation—before his visit to Armenia, but they did not have the time to do this.
