YEREVAN. – The text of the agreement on Armenia’s accession to Customs Union must be ready till May 2014, Economy Minister Vahram Avanesyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He said the meetings with private sector and explanations will be completed by that time.

The Minister recalled that the roadmap on Armenia’s accession is planned to be confirmed on December 24, supposedly during the next session of Eurasian Economic Council.

“The heads of Customs Union member states and Armenia are expected to hold discussions and will make a decision. The text will be ready by May 2014,” he said.

During this period, the Ministry will continue meetings with businessmen and discussions on possible changes in tax and customs legislations, standards and procedures.

“We are holding such meetings periodically,” Avanesyan noted.

President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan announced intention to join Customs Union on September 3 in Moscow.
