YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Emergency Ministry will purchase 80 anti-hail stations. According to the decision of the government, additional AMD 350 million (around $860,000) will be allocated to the ministry.
Of this amount, 280 million will be used for the purchase of 80 stations at the rate of 3.5 million per installation. Another 70 million will be used to purchase control stations located both in Armenia and in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Given the heavy hail that hit Armavir Region in spring 2013 and inflicted heavy damage to agriculture, 50 new stations will be installed in the region. The remaining 30 will be placed in other areas.
