The Turkish Historical Society (THC), which actively fights against the recognition of the Armenian Genocide, has sent letters to the universities in Turkey.

In the letters, the THC requests the names of the university students who are working on the Armenian issue, the titles of their research papers, and their contact information.

Agos Armenian weekly of Istanbul has learned that the letters were sent at the request of president Metin Hülagü of the Turkish Historical Society in Ankara.

In response to Agos’ query, the THC representative noted that since Turkey has not formally recognized the Armenian Genocide, the Turkish university students who recognize the genocide will not receive scholarships.
