YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan on Monday received Charge d’Affaires of Syria in Armenia Essam Nayyal.

The Minister noted traditional Armenia-Syria cooperation in agricultural sector, adding that it was unfortunately frozen due to political crisis in Syria.

“Syria is a one of friendly states for Armenia that once provided great assistance to the Genocide survivors. Syria has a large Armenian community. The pain of your country is our pain,” the Minister said.

Thanking for reception, the Syrian diplomat called Armenia a friendly state for Syria, and said they are proud of  Armenian community that is loyal to the country even in difficult time.

“Armenia is doing its best to support the authorities and people of Syria in the international agencies,” he emphasized.
