YEREVAN. – In connection with the forthcoming New Year and Christmas holidays, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and First Lady Rita Sargsyan hosted 200 children from border villages, on Monday at the Presidential Palace.   

The little guests were on hand as the lights of the Presidential Palace Christmas tree were lit, and the festive event kicked off.  

The President congratulated the participants at the event and all children, on the occasion of the upcoming New Year and Christmas holidays, and he wished them all the best.   

Sargsyan assured that everything is being, and will continue to be, done by the Armenian state, so that all children and youth may have the necessary opportunities to express themselves.    

The New Year and Christmas celebrations will continue at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday and Wednesday, too. As a result, the palace will host a total of about 1,000 children.
