President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan is in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR; Artsakh) on a working visit, and within the framework of the Unity 2014 operational and tactical joint military exercises of the Armenia and the NKR Armed Forces.   

Sargsyan on Thursday, and together with NKR President Bako Sahakyan, and the defense ministers and high-ranking commanders of the armed forces of the two Armenian republics, monitored the maneuvers by Artsakh’s Defense Army subdivisions, and also encouraged the more outstanding military servicemen. 

In addition, the two presidents attended the official opening of several new military facilities, and got familiarized with the everyday activities and the social and living conditions of the soldiers.

Subsequently, they paid a visit to the Defense Army command post and listened to the respective decision by the commander of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Army.
