YEREVAN. – Armenia will continue the reforms in the customs system.

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan noted the aforesaid Thursday during his talk with Secretary General Kunio Mikuriya of the World Customs Organization.  

The Premier considered the bilateral cooperation to be productive, informed the Press Office of the Government of Armenia. In Abrahamyan’s words, the reforms, which were carried out in recent years within the Customs Service of Armenia, already have yielded tangible results.

Mikuriya, for his part, welcomed the Armenian government policy to improve the country’s tax and customs administration, and he noted that Armenia has achieved significant progress in this respect.     

Subsequently, the interlocutors conferred on joint projects. They stressed that the customs reforms in Armenia should contribute to improving the business climate in and raising the economic competitiveness of the country.     

Separately, the Armenian PM underscored the need to strengthen and deepen collaboration with the World Customs Organization.
