YEREVAN. – The shooting of Karabakh helicopter on November 12 is a result of that fact that international community did not display enough political will, MP from the Republican Party of Armenia Gagik Minasyan said.

For years the Armenian side claimed that each case should be investigated, those guilty should be condemned, and the snipers should be removed from the line of contact to preserve peace in the region.

“Azerbaijan manages to keep the world community away from these moves. In their statements, international community addressed both sides. If it continues this way, the number of incidents will continue. Faulty attitude of the international community will lead to harmful consequences for themselves,” he emphasized.

Minasyan is confident that in case of hostilities in the region, the countries that were silent will suffer as well.

The Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire and shot down an NKR Air Force helicopter on November 12. After the helicopter fell in neutral territory, Azerbaijani side continued shelling not permitting access to the representatives of Armenia and NKR, as well as international organizations on behalf of OSCE and ICRC.

Taking into account, Azerbaijani authorities' refusal to let anyone close to the helicopter, of the NKR Defense Army command decided to conduct a special operation. The body of one pilot and remains of two others, as well as pieces of fuselage have been removed.
