YEREVAN. – Heritage’s National Assembly (NA) Faction will vote against ratifying the treaty on Armenia’s accession to the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

Opposition Heritage Party Chairman and former FM Raffi Hovannisian noted about the aforementioned at a press conference on Monday.

“Accession to the EEU means we [, Armenia,] are surrendering our sovereignty; this is contrary to the Constitution [of the country]. It curtails the independent steps of our economic activity.

“Several months thereafter, this union will also enter the pockets of the Armenian citizens,” Hovannisian specifically stated.

The aforesaid treaty is also on the agenda of the NA’s four-day session, which kicked off on Monday.
