YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia has become a member in the International Forum for the Challenges of Peace Operations.

And the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia, Davit Tonoyan, met with a Challenges Forum delegation, led by Challenges Forum Director and Founder Annika Hilding Norberg.

The interlocutors discussed the preparations for this year’s Challenges Forum annual conference, which will be convened in October in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia, informed the Armenia MOD press service. In this connection, Tonoyan stressed that Armenia looks toward deepening its cooperation with the Challenges Forum.

In turn, the Challenges Forum delegation members expressed their satisfaction with the high-level collaboration with the Armenian MOD.

On the same day, the Challenges Forum delegation paid a visit to the MOD Institute for National Strategic Studies, and participated in a discussion.

At the talk, the discussants clarified several substantive and organizational matters with respect to the aforesaid conference.

The guests were also introduced the project—which will kick off this year—for the establishment of the National Research University of Defense in Armenia.
