The Turkish authorities are going to make an important visit to the US ahead of April 24, the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

Turkey’s Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, will travel to the US next week to meet with US Secretary of State John Kerry, and in connection with the genocide issue, reported Radikal daily of Turkey.

It is noted that the Turkish authorities will make efforts in the US so that President Barack Obama does not say the word “genocide” in his annual April 24 statement for this year.

It became known that, after Pope Francis’ recent statement in which he recognized the Armenian Genocide, the Turkish authorities have become concerned that Obama could follow the Pope’s example and say “genocide” in his forthcoming April 24 statement.
