YEREVAN. – What can be worse than the consistent strategy of fully assimilating the genocide survivors? Fabio Massimo Castaldo, a Member of the European Parliament (MEP), asked the aforesaid Thursday speaking at the two-day International Social and Political Global Forum against the Crime of Genocide. This forum was devoted to the Armenian Genocide Centennial, it was held in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan, and about 600 participants from fifty countries took part in this event.
“A political response must be given to the [genocide] denial policy to resolve the historical unsolvable problem, and take punitive actions,” Castaldo said. “I would like to hope that the Turkish people will take action to reach a mutual agreement with the Armenian people, and the wound that separates us will heal.”
