Militants have shelled the Armenian Cathedral of the Holy Forty Martyrs in Aleppo, Syria.

Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed from the Armenian community in Aleppo that the church was located on the line of contact between the militants and the Syrian government troops.

As a result of the shelling, the 15th century Armenian church is almost completely destroyed.
