YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Thursday received a delegation headed by Governor of Saint Petersburg Georgiy Poltavchenko.
The sides noted importance of further deepening of inter-regional cooperation to enhance strategic relations between Armenia and Russia, Armenian president's press service reported.
President Sargsyan said he had an opportunity to discuss bilateral relations with President Vladmir Putin during latter's visit to Yerevan on the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
President Sargsyan and Saint Petersburg governor agreed that there is potential for development of all-around cooperation, and consistent work is needed for implementation of the potential. The interlocutors noted the role of the Armenian community of Saint Petersburg.
