YEREVAN. – It is still too early for Turkey to accuse the Russian Federation (RF) of genocide, political scientist Levon Shirinyan said at a press conference on Friday.

Shirinyan noted this reflecting on the Turkish MFA reaction to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent statement on recognizing the Armenian Genocide.

As per the analyst, Turkey’s principal difference between Russia and the Western countries is the fact that the latter have recognized their crimes and tried to make reparations.

“If Turkey accuses [Russia], let it first act similarly to Russia.

“Do that, and in that case you [i.e. Turkey] shall have the right to be compared to the RF and the West, with the degree of civilization,” Levon Shirinyan concluded.
