It is difficult to overestimate historic significance of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Major General, former commander of the Central Asian Border District Abdulazhon Artikbayev told Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent. 

The veteran noted that the world changed after the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

“But we got everything at a very high cost,” he said.

Major General recalled that millions of people were starving to provide the soldiers with bread and weapons.

“The people created this victory. People are heroes. Eternal memory to those who died on the field of battle. Let there never be a war. Prosperity to the peoples of the former Soviet Union,” he said.
