The European Union is ready to assist member countries of the Eastern Partnership, which are not included in the WTO, with the entry into the organization, Foreign Minister of the Latvian Presidency of the EU Edgars Rinkevics said.

“We are working on the Riga Summit declaration. As part of this process, we can prepare and work on a new agreement with Armenia, of course, given this country's participation in the Eurasian Economic Union,” he said after a meeting of trade ministers of the EU and Eastern Partnership countries, RIA Novosti reported.

“We also want to work with our partners from Armenia, Belarus and Azerbaijan to establish the level of cooperation that would meet the common interests. We are also ready to support those countries that are not yet members of the WTO, on their way to the organization,” he added.

For Armenia, the EU is ready to consider the possibility of a new agreement, the Latvian minister noted.
