YEREVAN. – Director and owner of 51 percent of Air Armenia shares Arsen Avetisyan has not given testimony yet, his wife Izabela Melkumyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The woman said she had talked to her husband about the incident. She claims her husband had been kidnapped by head of Armenia’s Football Federation Ruben Hayrapetyan, while his bodyguards beat the man.

According to reports, Arsen Avetisyan appealed to law enforcement agencies. It was revealed that Arsen Avetisyan and Ruben Hayrapetyan arranged to meet at the Football Academy. During the meeting, the bodyguards of Hayrapetyan beat Avetisyan.

Hayrapetyan, Avetisyan and two bodyguards have been questioned. The parties did not report the cause of the incident, claiming that they "did not understand each other." According to the media rumors, the kidnapping of Arsen Avetisyan was linked to the debts of Air Armenia company to Taron Avia owned by Garnik Papikyan.
