YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd daily has learned that the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) is going to convene an executive body (EB) meeting on Thursday, after a month-long break, reported the daily.
“As is known, for several years already, decisions regarding appointments to all vacant positions and all important matters related to Armenia’s system of governance are made at the very RPA EB meeting. It is believed that the matter of vacant position of the RA [i.e. Republic of Armenia] Minister of Justice also will be decided at the EB meeting.
“The RPA EB members, in private conversations, note that [President and RPA Chairman] Serzh Sargsyan in no way ‘reveals’ who he is going to appoint to this position. On the other hand, rumors do not stop that, actually, the matter has long been decided, and RPA NA [i.e. National Assembly] Faction member [Ms.] Arpine Hovhannisyan will be appointed Minister [of Justice],” wrote Zhoghovurd.
