YEREVAN. – U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills on Wednesday visited the Ministry of Finance data center in Yerevan's Zeytun district accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Finance Vakhtang Mirumyan.

With technical support from USAID, the Ministry of Finance has recently acquired modern equipment for the center.

The Deputy Minister presented in detail modern tax policy of Armenia, highlighting the latest achievements thank to the cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and USAID.

In turn, head of IT management department at Finance Michael Pashayan presented the integrated tax and customs administration that was automated with USAID support. Automation minimizes corruption risks and errors caused by human factor.

Ambassador Mills noted the achievements of the Armenian government that enabled to increase country’s position by 32 points in the ease of paying taxes ranking of the World Bank’s Doing Business report.
